The Medical Plasma Virus Photoinactivation Device is a product that uses the photochemical method for plasma virus inactivation. It is used in conjunction with Disposable Set for Pathogen Inactivation of Plasma, and is intended for blood centers to inactivate viruses in plasma. The process involves adding the photosensitizer "methylene blue," which acts on viruses, to the plasma. The wavelength, light intensity, and irradiation time of the light source within the equipment are utilized to activate the photosensitizer, thereby inactivating viruses in the plasma and ensuring the safe transfusion of blood.
